My list of exercises has gotten very long. How do I remove them from the list without deleting them permanently?
Unfortunately, there is no built-in feature which currently allows for this. The best current way to do this is to connect to your web site via FTP, then download the files you no longer want, then delete them. When you want them again, upload them into the same folder you downloaded them from and make sure they are "world-writable" so that the OWLS software can modify the file
I gave one of my exercises a silly name, how do I change the name of the exercises and files I make?
Unfortunately, there is no built-in feature which currently allows for this. The best current way to do this is to connect to your web site via FTP and rename the files directly. Do not change any file extensions (.php .html) that the file has however.
Whenever I try uploading files I get an error saying that I am violating my open_basedir restrictions. What does this mean?
For security purposes, some servers have placed restrictions in their PHP (the language in which OWLS is written) configuration file on the locations that users may modify and move files. This is determined by the open_basedir restriction. When PHP tries to upload a file, it first uploads it into a temporary directory and then does whatever the OWLS script asks it to do. If that temporary directory is not accessable to PHP, this error will arise. The only thing one can do is contact your server admistrator and ask them to either remove or modify their PHP configuration for you to allow you to upload files or do without this feature.
